- You earn FTPs by playing real money games. At the cash tables, you earn 1 point for every dollar in rake that's taken in any hand that you are dealt cards. What that means is that as long as you are dealt cards for the hand, you will get credit for the rake that's taken. So even if you fold, without paying a blind, if a dollar is taken in rake on that hand, you will get a point. What's great about FT is that they pay out percentage points too. So if only 50 cents is taken in rake, you'll still get half a point. That's nice if you're playing low stakes. You also earn 7 points for every dollar you spend in tournament fees. That means that if you enter a $10 + $1 tournament, you will earn 7 points. A $5 + $.50 tournament earns you 3.5 points. A $20 + $2 tournament earns you 14 points, and so on... Goodluck.
