How to Play Poker Videos

What are the poker hands?

I always have a problem remembering the poker hands and If I play I have to always ask what something is which spoils the game. Can someone tell me what the different hands you can get in poker are (like what cards=flush, straight, etc.) and possibly tell me the best way to memorize it? PS- playing video poker does NOT help me remember hands Wait so a flush does not have to be in order? It just has to be ANY five of the same suit? like 2 6 8 9 K but all clubs or something??

  1. Very simple! 1-Royal Flush (Ace, King, Queen, Jack, 10, of the same suit) 2-Straight Flush (5 cards of the same suit, in order) 3-Four of a Kind (4 of the same card) 4-Full House (3 of one card and 2 of another) 5-Flush (any 5 cards of the same suit) 6-Straight (5 cards in order of any suit) 7-Three of a Kind (3 of one card and 2 others) 8-Two Pair (2 different pairs) 9-One Pair 10-Hight Card (When you can't make any of the above!)
  2. I would suggest writing them down. Here goes High Card- One of a kind, basically A pair- highest Pair wins 2 pair- again if two players have two pair, highest pair wins, so two pair, Queens and 2s would beat two pair 10s and 9s 3 of a kind- highest wins Straight is 5 cards in a row of any suit 2,3,4,5,6 for example, highest straight wins. Flush is 5 of the same suit, again highest card wins so an Ace high flush is best. Full house is a three of a kind and a pair, highest three of a kind wins so a full house with three Aces and 2 twos beats a full house of 3 kings and two Aces. Four of a kind, highest wins Straight flush is a straight where every card is the same suit, so 5,6,7,8,9 all of clubs. The highest of these is a Royal Flush, or 10,Jack, Queen, King, Ace. Hope this helps.
  3. Royal flush (AKQJ10 + same suit) straight flush (34567 +same suit) four of a kind (7777) full house (333+55) flush (AK842 same suit) straight (34567 any suit) three of a kind (444) two pair (10/10 + AA) one pair (10/10 or AA) high card (A-2) Easiest way to remember is that one pair beats any single card, two (pairs) beats one (pair), three (of a kind) beats two (pair), in a row beats three (of a kind), suited beats the row, a boat beats the suit, four (of a kind) beats the boat, the straight flush and royal flushes beats everything else
