How much to tip for a complimentary drink while playing video poker in Las Vegas?
Let's say I'm on the Strip playing a 9/6 Jacks or Better video poker machine which has an expected return of approximately 99.5% with perfect play at the rate of about 500 hands per hour, and I bet $1.25 per hand. The waitress (or whatever she is called) comes up to me and ask me if I would like a drink. I tell her I want a shot of Jack Daniels. When she brings my drink back, how much should I tip her ?

- Are you winning or losing. Just kidding. A two dollar tip is ok for a regular single drink. If the waitress is attentive and you are making some money bump it up to 5 or 10 bucks. Thats not per drink but per session unless you are really putting down a lot of drinks. Then bump it up another 10. Just an opinion. If you are losing she will understand a smaller tip.
- $2 or $3 a drink
- Never tip less than $2 per drink.
- Oh My goodness I have been shorting the Staff I only tip a buck per drink. I feel ashamed. I can't go on. Can everyone forgive me. Sh*t I don't care You guys tip 2 I will tip what I damn well please Bite me
- Generally, a dollar is fine. BUT if you're on a winning streak, give at least $3 or so. I also tend to tip better on my first round so they come back. =)
- How fastdo you want the refill? My general rule is 1$ per drink and $2 per drink if you want them back faster. $3 per drink will get great service.
- $1 per drink There is only one casino "on the strip" that has 9/6 JOB at the quarter level, Slots-A-Fun >Just off the strip you can play at the, Palms LV Hilton Gold Coast Hooters Hard Rock Ellis Island For VP info http://www.lasvegasadvisor.com/referenceguide-videopoker.cfm 500 hands per hour is very slow, lol, stop drinking so much :-) average is around 800HPH for JOB - 600 would be slow - Good luck - Hit a Royal
- Nothing is really free is it? At your level of play, a dollar a drink should be fine.
- It doesn't have anything to do with what your playing, or how much your winning (or losing) You can be playing craps, roulette, 2l, or whatever. The optimum word here folks is "complimentary". Why do you think they come around and offer you these drinks, so that you will play more, and spend more money. The drinks are "FREE" you are tipping the cocktail waitress for bring the drink only. A $1.00 is sufficient. She doesn't care what you are betting, whether you are winning or losing, they just want you to stay in their casino and keep betting, thus they offer the FREE drinks.
- A buck!
