- I know a few things about video poker. First, it is WAY better than regular slots because you make decisions which effect the outcome of the game. For that reason there is some strategy and it is beatable. Second, find a machine where the paytable is at least 9/7. Meaning it pays out 9 units for a full house and 7 for a straight for every one unit played. Third, download a video poker strategy card or buy one in a bookstore. This will show you how to play with optimal strategy and give you the best chance of winning. Lastly, read a book by Bob Dancer. The guy claims that he made a living playing video poker and he know a TON about the game. Good luck! You need that playing any game.
- You need to go with your gut feeling. What is the most likely to turn up. That is all my sister plays in Laughlin NV. She wins all the time. Which online site were you playing? 50 play sounds fun.
- First off, find a strategy card for the particular game you are playing. If you don't play correctly, you're giving more of an edge to the house than you need to. Secondly, find machines called "Optimum Play." All of these machines payout over 100%, meaning if you play long enough with a large enough bankroll, you WILL win. I have yet to find a single machine in all of Las Vegas that pays out over 100% that is not an Optimum Play machine. Lastly, play max coins on whichever machine you're at. Almost all video poker machines have a disproportionately higher payoff for a royal flush when you play max coins, so if you do not play max coins, you are giving up more of an edge to the house. BTW, 50 play and 100 play are a lot of fun, but tend to have very poor pay tables. I will not recommend against playing them because I feel it's worth the price, but be aware that you will lose in the long run. Also, the only 50 play and 100 play games I've found online have the proper pay tables (at Deuces Wild anyway) for over 100% payback. Do NOT expect to do that well at an actual casino, because the pay tables will be much worse.
