Questions about PokerStars?
I love PokerStars and see them as the world's best poker site but have a few questions. Why is it that they show you what your hand is on the play money tables but not in real games? Normally this isn't a problem but occasionally (like once every 50 hands) I misread my hand or the board. Then why when everyone is all in and the action over do they NOT flip over the cards? I thought in this situation it is standard practice to show the cards. Why does PokerStars treat this differently?

- First off, they don't tell you what hand you have, because as a poker player it is your responsibility to learn what hand you have. If you play in Vegas, there is no computer telling you what hand you have. The idea is, by the time you are ready to take off the training wheels and play for real money, you need to read your hands properly. Use the four color deck if this helps. As for flipping over the cards, this is only a rule in tournament poker to prevent collusion or chip dumping. If you play any of their tournament games, they do flip the cards over just like on TV. Cash games (AKA ring games), there is no rule about having to do this. That's why it doesn't happen on Poker Stars. Try playing a low stakes sit and go, and you'll see the difference.
- What he said. You only have to expose them in a tournament.
