- not a split player b wins with the nine
- Player B. You take the highest 5 cards so in this case A, 10, 9, 5, 4
- Player B would win, as the 9 is a higher kicker then the 8. In the event of a split pot, the pot is divided equally among all remaining players in the hand.
- Player B is the winner, his hand is A,J,10,9,5. Player A has A,J,10,8,5. This is assuming, of course, that there are no flushes. The only time players split a pot is when they both have hands of equal value. These two players have no pair, so the value of their hands are determined by their high cards. They both share the A,J, and 10 from the board but then Player B's 9 outkicks player A's 8. The fives that they both have are irrelevant at this point.
- Like the other players said, Player B wins.. here is why. Player A's final hand is. A, J, 10, 8, 5 Player B's final hand is A, J, 10, 9, 5 Due to the nine in player B's hand, well it makes him/her a winner. It would have been a split pot only if the same 5 cards were used for both players. Here is an example. Our flop shows A,K,J,8,2 Player one has Q, 5 as his first two cards Player two has Q, 4 as his first two cards. The final outcome of this play would be, Player one's final hand, A,K,Q,J,8 Player two's final hand , A,K,Q,J,8 Since both players are tied then its a split pot. Remember in Hold'Em you use the top five cards. In the case of the example for both players it becomes the Q, causing to achieve the same result in the end. Hope that helps.
