How to Play Poker Videos

Do you think it should be against the rules to wear sunglasses while playing Poker?

Isn't one the key strategies in Poker the ability to read people's facial expressions? Doesn't this give people who wear sunglasses an unfair advantage?

  1. of course! i have always wondered about that. when me and my friends play they wear suglasses and u cannot tell if they are faking or not
  2. sunglasses are overrated. I have gotten tells off many a sunglass wearer, who thought they were immume by wearing them. How they bet, when they bet, how they move on what hand, the way they shift their bodies when they bet or whe I bet ect... tells are not just about the eyes, they are about the entire player and how they interact with thier eviroment.
  3. No it just makes it more the fun and more stylish / gangster-ish :P
  4. not at all. There are so many other things to look for in poker.Once the rules are across the board for everyone..
  5. I've heard this debate many many times. And it's always been won by this argument; People who are really good at reading the body language of other people don't really need to see the eyes. There are many other tells a person has and the ability to see that is crucial in the professional playing of poker. If you can't read them, you shouldn't be playing in the 'big leagues'. Much like any other sport, you need to be good enough at it to compete.
  6. No, poker needs rules about the integrity of the game. Poker is about trying to deceive your opponent about your hand.
  7. i kinda thing they should cuz if you look carefully and at the right angle you can see the other players cards but i think it gives the player looking at the person wearing them an advantage
  8. I think any peripheral that interferes with game pace (mainly ipods, and other headphones) should be banned in tournament play, casinos are free to set their own house rules based on whatever they think is best for their business, customers, and the game. Realistically, most people can deal with wearing sunglasses and pacing at a normal pace. Still, you get the occasional idiot who shows up with super-dark or tinted glasses and squints for a minute every time a card is dealt. Reading people is an important strategy but overemphasis is placed on facial reads, people are conciously thinking about how their face appear, and do not think about how they move their hands, grab chips, order a drink, talk to other players, etc, and these are usually more fruitful grounds for exploitation.
  9. I think it should be against the rules....definately.*
  10. thats a really good question, but i dunnoe the answer
  11. I understand sunglasses at major tournaments, but it always makes me laugh when someone in my homegame shows up wearing them.
  12. why not. I don't see the harm in it. sometimes you have to hide your expression to win.
