poker what should I do?
I love to play card games and stuff. With the boom of poker I found my self playing at least 30-40 hours a week online but for fun only. I have played for money and lost some but when I stick to my strategy I find my self-winning a lot. When I play in person even know it’s with family and friends I tend to break even if not win. I want to know if I should try this thing out for real to try to make a living? I have gotten better over the years I have been playing for at least 3 years now. I was wondering if I decided to do this is there any professionals who can teach me and show me the ropes or if there are any way to see how good I really am. What should I do?

- If you want to test yourself, go to Vegas. But be careful, its a business and a pretty competitive one.
- start with online poker - depending on how much you have to start with, you should probly go for $1 $2 blinds in order to make a decent return, work your way up from there. Do go to the casino too, its good to be able to play both online and in person
- I know what your saying. It is alot different when you are actually at a real table playing for real money. I think that you should give it a try.
- I have had those same thoughts. At the end of the day, it is still a game of chance-a pair of twos can beat ace, king suited. The professionals suggest that you should save a decent amount of money before you try it. If you can afford to lose the money that you will be using as an entry fee in the tournaments then you should try it on a limited basis. Do not quit your job or change your lifestyle right away until you feel confident you can hang with the big boys. Good luck...
- First try to play a few big freerolls. If you can make it in the money you are definitely doing something right. Some of the big poker freerolls will win you money and they are free to enter.
- I would say starting online is your best bet - you can find lower limits to get started off with and there is always action. I live in Vegas and play most of my poker online - you see the same tight people in these rooms day in and day out unless you're playing with the ballers on the strip. Take your time and refine your skills. Make sure to check out the sites online and take advantage of any deposit bonus offers available - these will make a huge difference in your bankroll. Using an odds calculator for a while may also help just to make sure you aren't making a costly mistake. You can find a free calculator and odds chart at the link in the sources section. Good luck! and if you do decide to come try it in Vegas - be careful - those 80 yr old men wouldn't call a dime without the nuts!
