A Good Sit n Go Strategy?

Does anyone know of a good sit n go strategy? I started playing sit n go's a time back but i need to develop a good strategy. I looked on this strategy but has anyone tried it? Does it work? http://hubpages.com/hub/Online_Poker_Strategy_Sit_n_Go

  1. first of all, in any poker tournament your strategy should change depending on the players of course and your basic strategy in a sit n' go should depend on your goal...if your main objective is to make the money first, you should play what most people consider the standard sit n' go strategy, which is to play very tight early on and be very patient, and when the blinds get high then you should start pushing and being aggressive, and then take that even a step further when you get to three-handed play...a key to this strategy being effective is to NEVER be calling raises, when faced with a raise you have to reraise or fold however, if you are looking to win or go home, i would suggest playing a regular multi-table tournament strategy, this will usually allow you to accumulate chips quickly or bust out, because of the nature of the blind structure in a sit n' go
  2. With a tourney it pays to make sound folds of big hands to move up the pay scale, but in a sit n go you have to play a more aggresive style for sure. The first reason is that only the top 2 or 3 will get payed out, and you will get short-handed so you will have to get more aggresive. In a regular tourney, empty seats would get filled up by other players, but in a single table sit n go, you will be playing a lot short-handed, so being able to bully the table is key.
  3. It goes a bit deeper than tight early play and aggressive when you become short handed. The first ten hands played will tell you the general style those around you are playing. Given the limited pay out (1st - 3rd), memorizing hands played isn't all that difficult. Watch what cards are flipped, what hand beat what. Given that we are creatures of habit, if Guy-X is constently showing paint-rag, that information can be priceless later on. Also, remember this edict: Not every hand is a bluff. If you miss your flop, what do you have to gain by calling or betting if you know the person in the flop with you plays the kind of cards that can now beat you after the flop? For every great hand you have that craps out on the flop, you will hit a good flop with the same hand. Pick and choose your battles. Big Slick isn't all that impressive post-flop when it's missed.
