How to Play Poker Videos

What is a good strategy to use when you get down to like 3 players in poker, the blinds are up?

We play holdem and I'm ver conservative in the begging playing very little hands. I'll play like J9 off suit worst case scenario in late position type of conservative. I need a strategy for when It's down to three (and I'll usually be the short stack, but have enough to double up once or twice and be the chip leader). Thoughts?

  1. GO ALL IN
  2. When you are playing from a blind position...raise before the flop...it will almost always get one of them out and your playing field is heads up. Also dont call...its mostly read as a sign of weakness or that you are not that confident in your hand. And if someone is bullying you or think you are a weak player(raising just because you dont have as many chips as them) go all-in. That will back them off a bit. Also...dont go into a flop thinking A-K is a super strong hand before you see the community cards...it is a doomsayer and not as strong as the television shows would like you to believe.
  3. In the early game with a full table, being conservative pays off. In late game, being aggressive pays. Basically, you need to play hands you wouldn't dream of in the early game. Steal as many blinds as possible, otherwise you'll lose to a war of attrition if you're playing conservative. As always, though, you have to adapt your strategy based off of the other players at the table. If you're playing against other conservative players, raise as often as possible before the blind (just the minimum amount) to steal as many as you can get. If you're playing against aggressive players, re-raise them if you're the big blind to scare them off.

  5. You said your often the short stack, and I believe that's why: when it is time to steal the blinds, and steal more pots, you keep to be conservative....basically to tight, and maybe to passive. First thing, open your choice of starting hands, and be more aggressive. At this stage of the game you should have a pretty good idea of the style of your opponents...and them about you. So take advantage of it, If there is one thing most chip leader don't want is...lose there chip lead!!, find your spot, be aggressive, take the best of any situation...and it's definitly time to...gamble too. You can contact me on my site and give me more information about your play. take care
  6. First of all j-9 even in late position is kind of loose, unless your chips are big and your getting odds and position as well. There is no set style to play at any one time in a tournament, if the table is loose and calling everything, then i won't play a hand unless I'm Strong and have good position. And if the table is tight I'm more likely to steal as much as i can. But shot-handed you have to be aggressive as you can be, and if you are short on chips i like to get my chips in As much as i can. And if i have big chips short handed i push the action a lot with marginal hands.
