  1. win
  2. Remember its not about how many hands you win its about how much money you win Play tight and agressive
  3. Here is some good strategy for any limit. The higher the limits the more these strategies are important. Ima take it that you are completely new at this game (which you are probaly not, but ya gotta make sure) Ima copy and paste one of my answers from a while ago. O yea btw, all the strategy is the same from 1/2- 10/20. You change strategy by your oppenents type of play and the tables type of play, how big his stack is, how much he bluffs, what he thinks you have, what you think he has, does he think or does he just call as long as he has tptk, is he able to make big laydowns etc. You have to know how he plays so be observant! Basically play the player. All the other strategy is the same in any table. When you first start you want to play a tight game (play only quality hands. Play only AA,KK,QQ,JJ,1010,AK,AQ, Thats all. Once you get the idea start playing a couple worse hands like AJ,22-99, KJ and suited connectors. Here is a good guide to what to play depending on your position: http://www.pokerjesusonline.com/starting... Once you start using the guide for one month, stop using it and do your own thing. Remember its just a guide and you want to adept to your oppenents. Also your oppenent can read you like a book if you keep using this guide. know when to fold when you are beat (like letting go of pocket aces on a coordinated board) Learn how much you should bet to manipulate pot odds Know how to capitilize on position. The later the better. You get ALOT more info. Let me give you an example Thats say you hold KJ utg (first person to act preflop). Its a 1/2 game and you raise it to 6 (normal raise preflop). You get raised to 20 by someone on the button. What do you do?? Well you arent ahead of anything that reraises and maybe even money with pocket 10s and lower. You are down big time against any Ace with a jack kicker and higher and you are still down versus any ace. You are down big time against any pocketpair higher than pocket 10's and against any king (KQ-KK). But you decide that since you have a king you want to call. The flop comes out K42. You bet 20 into a pot of 26. He calls. Now you decide that since he just called he is weak. You bet the 60 into 66. He reraises you allin now. You lost half your stack on a hand that can hardly beat anything good. You are forced to fold now. (You should have folded preflop and stopped betting after the flop is done) However if you had position you probaly would have saved at least 60 dollars on the turn. Calling on the button with KJ isnt a bad move and calling the flop when the king came out wasnt bad (maYBe a raise to get information would be better) However, when he bet 60 you should probaly fold because as i said kj isnt too great a hand. Anways position gives you a whole bunch more of information. The worse the hand the better position you need ! Also, i hope you noticed kickers are very important. A jack for a kicker is pretty high right? No! People in 1/2 usually like to play tight and with 10 people theres a huge chance you are dominated. And no matter what avoid hands with kickers lower than 10 (unless its a suited connector) Know how to play suited connectors Know how to bluff and semibluff Know when to slowplay and when to just bet 80% of the time you need to be agressive and bet Know your oppenents and their tells (betting and facial) Once you get the feel of the game, start varying your play.(like raising with suited connectors or trash hands like 7,10) thats all i can think of. This article will expend on most if not all these points. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/poker_strat... If you cant find somne points i mentioned in this link just google it.
  4. just go all in every hand...maybe u will get lucky
  5. It really depends on the casino, the table and the specific players who happen to be at that table. Clearly tight aggressive is the general goal. But you should change you style based on the table. If they are all very tight, loosen your game and steal. If they are all loose, tighten your game and play the monster hands. The great thing about a 10 handed $1/$2 no limit table is that it only costs you $3 per orbit in forced bets. So you can afford to sit back and wait for premium hands to play. Unlike tournament play the blinds are not going to jump up on you. So take your time. Sit back. Pick your spots. If you are still inexperienced, it is better to only play premium hands.
  6. Position and waiting for a good situation are the keys to playing good poker in any no limt flop game. I will fold hands for an hour if i don't have the right situation to play in. I can do this because blinds are so low, that im not forced to play fast like in a tournement. But playing siper tight is not the way to go in most cases since players will know when you have a good hand, so they all fold to your bet. I play tight aggresive and i steal pots where players are weak, or where i feel i can out-play then post flop. I will limp with decent hands like K-Q, A-10, and K-j. But i will also steal with hands like J-10, K-10, and 9-10 suited. I am not a big fan of slow-playing any kind of monster hand at all, with hands like A-K,A-Q,A-A, and K-K i will always just come right out and make a raise of 3-5 time the size of the blinds, and if there is already a raise out there i will play aggresive and re-raise if i have position or if i have him out-chipped. But i am also ready to lay down big hands like A-Q, A-K,and,J-J as well. Hands have no set value in poker so being able to dump big hands to even better ones is part of the game, a lot of times i can point to a key lay-down as the reason i either made profit for the day, or lost money for the day. But in the end it is not the big hands that will make or break you, it's hands like A-9, K-9, Q-10, 7-7 and 8-7 suited that will make or break you in the end. You should also be ready to loss money at first since as a poker player we are in it for the long run. I have had times where i went 5-10 sessions where i had lost money, but overall in 40-75 session i had made money. So don't base any views of your game based on just one game.
  7. Actually there's a site that gives many tips about poker strategies check it if you wish to learn a little more ..
  8. your strategy is to win! there is no dif. betwen this game and 100/200 except the amount of money you are willing to gamble..ie. how comfortable you are at the table. you can still take down some nice pots in the 1-3 hundred dollar range, as i did last week in atlantic city. gl
