Online Poker Strategy?

What is the best strategy for playing online poker cash games (not tournies)? Someone told me they can make $150/hr playing 10 games simultaneosly. I'm moderately experienced but am looking to increase my profits. I play .25/.50 and .5/1 limits. Does it make sense to play lots of games and just play very tight poker? Any ideas would be great.

  1. Start out small, one game, playing tight... and LEARNING THE OTHER PLAYERS..... then work your way up. With cash games, you need to read people just like in perso..... wait a minute, isn't that illegal?
  2. You really just have to keep practicing. When you are consistently beating one limit, promote yourself to the next one up. If you have three losing sessions drop back down again. The idea of playing 10 tables is just nonsense. All you are doing is increasing the likelihood of making mistakes. If you are not good enough to consistently beat $1/$2 NLH you are certainly not good enough to be playing multiple tables.
  3. Play 1 game well instead of 10 games sloppily and you should see an instant increase in your winnings. If you are planning on playing 10 different .50 tables, why not just play 1 $5 table instead? You will be able to devote more time to paying attention to the players, their betting habits, the hands they showdown with and lots of other tidbits of info you could easily miss if you are jumping around on 10 tables at once.
  4. those small tables, .25/.50 and .5/1 seem to attract mostly conservative players and some fishes.. i would play multiple tables conservatively, wait for your chances to win big, see flops for cheap, it all depends on the table though. if its a tight table, you might want to be more aggressive and take some blinds, but then again, changing your pace of play will keep them guessing,, so do some bluffing by setting it up.. dont try and bluff at a pot you didnt come in raising with or at least a semi-bluff,, a winning drawing hand.. good luck.. p.s. i am consistantely cashing 250-300 every week or two.. only play 2 hrs a night at most.. i play 1/2 normally and sit n go tourneys limited to under 180 people on stars...
  5. It doesn't sound like you are very experienced when it comes to poker. I'm not either. My best advice is to not try and take money from people. Just sit back and let them give it to you. Wait for good hands. Also, play pocket pairs in later position for cheap, or for any reasonable raise. Hitting a set is a great way to double up through someone with top pair and an A kicker, or an overpair. The more hands you play the more skill is required, so take it slow. And read Phil Gordon's books. They're great.
  6. Playing multi-table require a lot of skills, judging by the limit you're playing you are on average player. I suggest you to put more hours at the table and after a while and if you realise that your bankroll keep growing , go up on stacks a little, and at that moment you can try a few time playing 2 tables at the same time( play the game for each table), but for that go down on stack (your original .25/.50 for exemple). You don't need to put more pressure on yourself. By the way i play poker for a living and I often play 2/3/4 tables at the same time, but no more than that. So you talk about 10!!! no...NO. Dont do that you're going to put yourself on a bad spot....and be ready to be on tillt... Many players refuse to accept that poker is a difficult and complex game and it requires a lot from them! You must do the hard work needed to win! If you need more advice you can contact me on my site. Take care
