  1. Omaha you get 4 cards face down and 5 board cards. You must use exactly 3 board cards and two hole cards to make up your hand, in hold em you can play all five cards on the board, but in Omaha you have to use three board cards and two hole cards. There are two forms of Omaha, one is just high so the best high hand wins, and they have high low split 8's or better. That is you are trying to make the best high and the best low hand at the same time, half of the pot goes to the high and half to the best low, the best low hand is A-2-3-4-5. The board must have 3 cards lower the 8 without being paired in order to have a low hand. So if the board is 3-4-5-Q-K and you have A-2-6-9 you would have the nut low and the straight for the high so you could scoop the pot. Or if you had 4-4-A-2 and the board was 4-K-K-3-5 you would have the full house fours full of kings for the high and the nut low with A-2-3-4-5.
  2. There are two major versions of Omaha commonly played. Regular Omaha and Omaha H/L (AKA Eight or better / 8oB). Your question only asked about Omaha, so I will only talk about that. However, if you are interested, the second link talks about the H/L version of the game. Omaha is played in a very similar way to Texas Hold'em. If you've ever played Hold'em, Omaha is just a few minutes learning away. Omaha, like Hold'em is a poker game of community cards. The deal or dealer button passes around the table after each hand and there is a small blind and a big blind just like Hold'em. The betting structures are also very similar to Hold'em. It is possible to play, limit, pot limit and no limit versions of the game. The major difference with Omaha is that every player is dealt four hole cards, rather than two. The community cards are dealt just like Hold'em. In Hold'em you can use 0-2 of your hole cards to make the best five card poker hand. In Omaha you must use two of your four hole cards, together with three community cards to make the best five card poker hand. This NEVER changes. If you hold four aces in your hand, you can only play two of them. If there is one rule to understand about Omaha more than any other it is this one. Many Hold'em players mistakingly think that they can play any combination of their hole cards, just like they do in Hold'em. But this is never true of Omaha. It is ALWAYS two of the four hole cards and three of the community cards. No exceptions. That's about all there is to the game. The links have more details. If you already play Hold'em, then Omaha can be a nice alternative. Once you have figured out regular Omaha try learning H/L. This is a great game because the split pot and low hands confuse people so there is always plenty of money to be won off people who don't understand the game.
  3. Omaha hold 'em (or Omaha holdem or simply Omaha) is a community card poker game ("flop game") similar to Texas hold 'em, where each player is dealt four cards and must make his best hand using exactly two of them, plus exactly three of the five community cards. Excatley like texas holdem just you play 2 of your 4 cards
