- I think you are delusional. When was the last time you watched poker on TV? Have you ever seen a bad beat? Ever seen someone catch a one outer to knock someone out? Ever seen aces cracked? Last night on Poker After Dark I saw AQs beat AQo, when one player rivered a flush. So do you believe that all these bad beats were created by rigging the World Poker Tour, or World Series of Poker? Do you think Poker After Dark is fixed too? Last night I was playing in a poker game on Poker Stars and I got my ace high flush beaten by a rivered straight flush. Does this mean that the whole site is rigged and they were just out to get me? I won a 45 player tournament prior to that on the same site, were they just rewarding me for being a nice guy? But then punishing me later with a bad beat? Seriously, that kind of thinking is paranoid delusion. It is conspiracy theory gone wild. Poker Stars make millions of dollars, by running a completely straight game. Why would they put their entire business on the line just to play dirty? Also consider this. Imagine how many programmers they need to constantly keep the software updated and ensure integrity and safe play. I'd say they probably have a team of at least a dozen programmers. Poker Stars has been in business for five years now. If the site were rigged, don't you think that at some point one of those programmers is going to come forward with proof and rat them out to the media? Doesn't it seem unlikely to you that in five years not a single person has ever left the company disgruntled and wanting to get revenge? It would take too many people all keeping very quiet to rig the site. It would only take one to blow the whistle and shut down the site. The way human nature is, I find it hard to believe that a web site like Poker Stars could have kept something like this a secret for so long. Usually, when people like you cry foul it is because they suck at poker. They get a few bad beats and immediately assume that the site is out to get them. Quite often the bad beats are really not that bad at all. It is often just bad play putting yourself at risk thinking your hand is stronger than it really is. So that's what I think. I think you need to fess up and admit that you are not as good a player as you think you are. It is only when you can be self critical that you can hope to improve, both in life and as a poker player.
