i think phil ivey he makes great lay downs and is always focused.

- i really like daniel negranu.....he is excellent at reading other players...not saying he is the best though....probably someone like doyle brunson who has proven themselves multiple times and has alot more experience....
- Negreanu has won just about everything there is to win. And a nice guy to boot. He's my TO lad.
- Wow, good question. There are too many of them to really come to a conclusion. The best player is the one that has won the most tournaments. If Phil Ivey has done this then your right.

- The question is a tough one because there are so many different ways to look at it. Phil Ivey is extremely gifted and is very capable of reading his opponents. Although he recently won the 'Poker After Dark' tournament not one of his World Series bracelets are from playing Hold 'em (his S.H.O.E. bracelet includes Hold'em but is not the only game played). Daniel Negreanu has the same gift for reading his opponents cards. Daniel's problems at times is that even after he has called his opponents cards he still calls (I only wish I could be so lucky to be able to clearly call the cards and still call). Daniel has won several WSOP bracelets in Hold'em, was named CardPlayer magazine Player of the year for 2004. He is also storming through the tournament circuit again this year. So if you are talking Hold'em players and not ALL professional poker players then I would have to vote for Daniel Negreanu (with no disrespect to the legends of the game, i.e. Doyle).
- It's a tough question to answer!, only one name.......To hard. So I go with severals... P.IVEY, D.NEGREANU, P.HELLMUTH, A. CUNNINGHAM, D. BRUNSON, J.JUANDA, J. CHAN, J. HARMAN......And more. I know he's a brat but, because you said Holdem, and if you talk about tournaments....P. Hellmuth has the best record. He's not my favorite player.....but he had the bracelets..

- We would have to know who ends up with the money at the end of their fiscal year. Some win big and then lose it back in poker games we do not know about, I am talking about a money management concept for the year, I do not beleive tournament wins, head to head wins, etc are the judging criterion we should use. Best professional is the guy who walks away with the loot after alll the games are counted. Some of the players are addicted to the rush and when they are lose , chase and give back winnings from other games..... thoseplayers can not be the top PRO BECAUSE they didn't treat their poker career as a business as THE top professional should.
- Daniel Negreanu is my favorite. "Texas Dolly" Doyle Brunson is still good, but long in the tooth. I like Cindy Violette, but it doesn't seem that the women can win the big ones. I also like Jesus Ferguson, "The Magician," Hellmuth, he's a hoot, the Unibomber, but don't like his GF Meg Tilley. She's over the hill body wise and still thinks she has to flaunt it.
- ivey is a monster, in about 10 years we'll be talking about him as one of the best ever, and he'll only be in his 30s even then!...he not only can make great laydowns, he makes some incredible bluffs and calls too, and is probably has better instincts than anyone i've watched
