Do you recall if Phil Ivey hates being called the "Tigers Woods of Poker"?
My friend is a huge Poker guy and said he took offense to that claim. Anybody here know? All out of curiosity, really.

- Peekaboo!
- I don't mind being called the "Tiger Woods of overeating and not-exercising."
- It ought to be a compliment to be called the Tiger Woods of anything.
- probably, b/c tiger woods sucks at poker.
- he didn't really take offense to it, but i do remember him saying that he wasn't worthy of that claim because he felt he wasn't yet the best at what he does, which tiger obviously is...of course i have to disagree with phil there because i do think he's the best at what he does
- sabes99 has it right. I saw him interviewed on TV once and when asked he said it was a compliment, but didn't feel it was appropriate because he was not the best in the game. I think Ivey is amazing, but he certainly is not at the Tiger Woods level of his game. He'd need to win the next few Main Events to come close to Tiger. Also I can see Ivey getting a little annoyed simply because there is a slightly racist undertone to the comparison.
