Why do most every poker enthusiast have a "crush" on Phil Ivey?
Phil Helmuth, no matter how many tirades he goes on, no matter how many times he belittles his opponents, no matter how much he wants to get on TV and make a jackass of himself - he is THE best no limit poker player alive today. You hear his opponents (such as Ivey and Negreanu) talk smack about him because they are jealous because he IS the best. In a mind game, wouldnt you want your opponent to think you have no fear of him? 11 bracelets after the one he won this year and a ton of accomplishments. Check and compare between the profiles for accomplishments between Helmuth abd Ivey and Negreanu on Card Player .com and let me know what you think. why oh why do you still have a man crush on ivey and negreanu - no comparrison here - they suck and hes the best try and match and you cry - you suck if you think different - no comparing him with others at all

- Phil Ivey's a pro. Helmuth is a jacka$$. Ivey wins gracefully and loses gracefully. Helmuth goes on rants whether he wins or loses.
- I'm not a big poker enthusiast but I find Phil Ivey interesting. He seems kind of young to be such a good player and his looks remind me a little of Tiger Woods.
- cuzz they are stupid and cant get a date worth their lives!
- All the top players have egos that are so large they are all very annoying. I do not have a "crush" on any of the male players. I really like to watch Jennifer Tilly play. She a solid player and uses her womanly wiles to throw off her opponents.
- i can't believe that you've ever seen ivey play if you don't think he is the best no-limit player in the world people like to rag on hellmuth because of his personality and his poor play in cash games, not because they're jealous...it's just hilarious when he goes on tirades like a 3-year-old and starts complaining about things that oftentimes don't even make much sense...also, he is a poor cash game player, no matter what he says, and everyone knows he is a live one and they like to pick on him for it also, hellmuth's tournament accomplishments are better yes, but consider that ivey hasn't been on the scene as long and plays far fewer tournaments than hellmuth...if ivey played as many tournaments has hellmuth does then he would have almost as many bracelets and other major titles and in eight fewer years on the circuit so to say that hellmuth is a better no-limit player simply because of his tournament accomplishments is ridiculous, ivey just doesn't want to play the same tournament schedule that hellmuth does...i would be willing to lay you a 3-to-1 price on a bet that ivey will have 11 bracelets by 2020 as for negreanu, i checked cardplayer like you said to and what do you know, NEGREANU HAS MADE MORE MONEY OVER THE COURSE OF HIS TOURNAMENT CAREER THAN HELLMUTH!...daniel is the WPT all-time money leader and one of the all-time money leaders at the wsop, and just because he doesn't have as many bracelets doesn't mean he isn't just as good a player, if not better...daniel just doesn't play as many events as hellmuth, and therefore gives himself less chances at the bracelet, and also he plays the same number of big buy-in events and again, has won more money than hellmuth! so you really have no way of arguing that hellmuth is better than either of them, comparing their results based on number of tournaments played edit: i have shown you the clear and pure results and you still refuse to believe...you sir are stupid because you refuse to accept opinions which are different from yours, even when the facts are there to prove you wrong
- SABES99 has a very good point, there is nothing to compare. I'm not going to repeat what he say, but I agree 100%. But, First HELLMUTH is the Poker Brat, and he like that. Two: he is a great NLH " tournaments" players, no doubt about that. Winning 11 bracelets is an unbelievable performance and nobody can take that away from him. But here's why many poker players, and pros players, have a hard time with : His cash games reputation! He's not a cash game player, PERIOD! Now hear me here, there is nothing wrong with that, many pros players are only tournaments players and there are doing just fine. But HELLMUTH " pretend" to be a good cash games player who can play against the best in the world. Now playing the $25/50 from time to time is not playing against the best in the world! Well, can you tell me if he ever try, to play a long sessions of the 4K/8K Mixed games at Bobby's room at the Bellagio? Me I can tell you: NO, HELL NO! And trust me the door is open for him! But is not that stupid... A poker player need to know where he stand in the poker world, and it's good for anybody.... HELLMUTH is great when he has to " sale" his image on TV. He knows how to make money with his name. He is great for that, no doubt about it. You can have HELLMUTH at your " private party" for 50K ........Like I said his good to sale is name. Now, I personnally think he is a great player, and a good person ( nice person) outside of poker, when he won is 11 bracelets, he was humble and very nice and open to everybody.. But you can't put him next to what I considere the " best in the world" Cash game poker is the pure poker. That's the way it is. And you will find the best in the world, playing the biggest games in the world.....PERIOD. Take care .
- The answer is simple: Who would you rather be sitting at a table with? It's not Phil thats for sure. I appreciate Ivey and Negreanu's calm demeanors, and Negreanu's ability to read other players hands is amazing.
