How to Play Poker Videos

most underrated professional poker player?

who do you guys feel is the player(or players) that don't get enough respect from the fan community(not the player community)?...i think the easy answer here is chip reese, but he has gotten more appreciation after winning the inaugural $50k HORSE bracelet...if i had to pick others i would say todd brunson, david singer, and minh ly, and i'm sure many others that i can't think of off the top of my head have to agree that cassidy is a sick player especially at limit hold'em also, nenad medic is very, very good, a name i never even thought of to put up there

  1. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of great cash game players who will never be known by the public. People who win bracelets and make final tables (often because they play so many tournaments, not because they are that good) get all the glory. It's all a bit silly really. Poker players don't need appreciation, they just work for themselves, taking people's money by playing a game. It's bizarre that suddenly poker players are seen as some kind of entertainer and are being judged by clueless fans based on just a small sample of televised hands. I do appreciate that the celebrity status of poker players has been great for the game, but I still think it's really funny - especially that some well known tournament players are in fact long term losing players. The most underrated player by the normal fan that I can think of is Barry Greenstein. He's so quiet and unassuming, if it wasn't for his book, he'd be even more below the radar for tv audiences.
  2. Allen Cunningham
  3. It's really hard to give one name. But sure the best example would be Chip Reese. The fan community heard about Chris Moneymaker before they heard of Reese...Kind a sad. The fan community only know what they see on tv (for the most part) You gave some good example of names. There is so many underrated poker pro. And now we almost have to include online poker. There is some great name out there too. Now, if they're in the shadow, it's because most of them rearely play the tournaments, they play the cash games...And of course I'm talking about the "big game" Barry Greenstein, Todd Brunson, Chau Giang, David Levi, Bobby Baldwin, Lyle Berman, John Hennigan, Jeff Lisandro, David Grey. But those are underrated, and play the big games for a long time. Now young names who play big? Scott Fischman and Joe cassidy. I bet the "fan community" don't have a clue who Joe Cassidy is, so he is underrated, But Bobby's Room is his place!
  4. Probaly me. Would really appreciate it if you could reply to additional detials from my previos question. Yes, i know i posted alot, but i would like to learn more from your insightful mind mr sabes. Thx!
  5. I think the two most underrated player in poker today are Nenad Medic and David Oppenhiem. Both players don't get as much press as many other mainstream players do. This is because these 2 are mainly cash game players like chip is, but with more money and more air time on t.v, these players are coming out to play more tourneys then ever. Ive seen many videos of these players on t.v and on the net, and i have to say that these players are just sick with there skills. I also agree that Joe Cassidy is an underrated player as well. Joe is most likely the best limit player in the world today.
  6. I'll definitely agree with Chip Reese, and I'd like to add TJ Cloutier and Ted Forrest to that list, also two very unassuming guys who I think are astounding players. I've seen Forrest make so many correct decisions in one session it was scary. I don't know how a poker player, even a pro, can be right so many times.
  7. If you are looking for tournament players, then I'd absolutely agree with Allen Cunningham who has won a few bracelets, finished deep in several tournaments every year for several years and just hasn't seemed to pickup media attention despite having one of the highest average return on investment stats of any World Series/WPT player. If you look at cash games, I'd agree with David Oppenheim, but I'd also mention David Grey as a local who regularly beats up the highest limit games but hasn't seen that much tv time.
