why is nascar on espn?
Alls i see anymore is nascar on espn. give me a freaking break! between having to watch poker, horse racing and nascar, i'm gonna freak! nascar is nowhere near a sport so why is it on a sports network? i mean come on..you sit in a car the whole time pressing a pedal. how demanding is that? i know they show golf, but i consider that a recreational activity, not a sport. at least they walk the whole time though instead of sitting in a chair... ohh boo hoo dango, not my ankle sore! not that! freaking sleep it off, itll be better the next morning dylan- i played ice hockey, football, and baseball, i think i could take a few bumps in a car... this is such a funny topic, i love pissing people off sometimes. beats being bored. ezz- baseball not a sport? sure it may not be tough like football, but you have to workout every day in order to hit a 95 mph fastball. can you do that? anyways, all of you that are all angry now and stand by your "sport", how bout you all go put on your bud light racing cap and have another jack daniels

- I'm with you there, buddy. But people watch it, as dumb as it is.
- ITS A FREAKIN SPORT smarty pants
- Because it is a sport! I would rather watch Nascar than golf!
- I personally would never watch Nascar, but it is very popular for a lot of people. It is strictly a smart buisiness move on ESPN's part. I would prefer them to start covering hockey again and drop Nascar, but I know that will never happen.
- Cause more people care about Nascar, then basketball, baseball, hockey. Plus makes the network more money then all the above. And uh it is the second largest sport in the United States. And if you knew anything when was the last time you sat in a 130 degree car for four hours going 190+ while pulling 5g's with 42 cars inches away from you. Uh not the same as baseball. Honestly who cares about baseball anymore, not a vast majority of the United States.
- Because Nascar makes money - that is why it is everywhere right now.
- I don't watch NASCAR, but i disagree with the point you're trying to make. You make it sound like all they have to do is sit down, press down with their foot, and turn a wheel. It's a lot different, and strenuously demanding on the body. You're the type of person I would love to see try and go out there to do what they do.
- Want to see how good of shape your in. Try sitting in a chair for 3 to 3 1/2 hours and hold your arms out and every 15 to 20 seconds turn your hands like your steering a car, then move your left foot up and down at the same time. When your ankle is sore and your back is sore, then comment on how it is not demanding. Obviously you know nothing about it but at least you think you do.
- It is a sport!! Try racing a car and then we'll see if you change your mind! I have done it and it takes a lot out of you!! Between the centripital force woring against you and the heat, it is very strenuous!! So NASCAR is a sport so deal!
- I am totally with you!!! How is driving fast a sport? My husband and i both race our cars and we aren't tired or worn out afterwards. We are perfectly normal. If driving really were a sport, then every single person with a license should be paid $100,000 a year and if they have a speeding ticket for 30+, they get a pay raise. Oh, and another pay raise if they play poker
- Basically to answer your question, espn bought out NBC to have nascar showed on their networks, why did they do that, because it's the biggest freaking money making "sport" in the United States, as we all know for sports, money IS everything. I gave up watching espn a long time ago between the freakin poker crap and golf why should I even bother. I like playing poker and I like playing golf but damn it if I wanna watch it on tv. What people don't understand about sports is if they've never sat in those seats and watched them they have no idea what it's all about, it's a different experiance being there or playing it then just sitting on your a** all day watching it. I love baseball I have since I was a little kid and alway swill, the best for me is going to baseball games they don't even need to be major leagers, try it sometime people see what you're missing. As for nascar thats just to expencive to go and sit for 5 hours waching some cars go in circles waiting for someone to crash, thats why they have blooper reels.
