- A good place to practise online is in yahoo games. yahoo poker. It doesn't cost you anything. once you get the hang of it try the advanced rooms. you learn pretty quickly.
- not me
- If I were you I would just get in some practice. Maybe ask for a book for Christmas or birthday. You can play online for free at PokerStars.net. It is legal, free, and will allow you to get the hang of playing. Lessons are probably not that important until you've had a little bit of practice or read some simple books.
- There are some excellent online tutorials. Try a search in Yahoo (not Google - their results are awful) and you should come up with some helpful sites. Alternatively, pick up a book by David Sklansky. He's written quite a few really good poker advice books.
- My advice is to read some books first, try Phil Gordon's book Poker The Real Deal. Its a good book for people who are just learning the game. Then move on to Doyle Brunsons book Super System. Be careful where you play yahoo poker is full of very bad players who can teach you very bad habits. Wherever there is a game with nothing at stake people have nothing to lose so they develop bad habits. Try the link below and sign up for fake money (your to young to play for real money sorry to say). Play in the free "sit and go'es". They are single table tournaments and are somewhat competitive because once you lose your out. You can not buy back in. Good Luck.
- Yeah, but how would I do that? You're welcome to email me, I'll try to answer any questions you have.
- My advice is to just play. Use the legal, free sites. Maybe spend $10 for a CD from a games store and play on your computer against computer opponents. I feel books won't help so much. Playing is real experience. Books are too far removed from real playing.
