How to Play Poker Videos

2 texas holdem questions in one question!!?

Okay do u play all suited connectors or just 67s and higher with 4 people? And in poker after dark people play so much tighter than in high stakes poker?? Is it because poker after dark is a tourney? TL suited connectors go down in value with less people. AA goes up in value with less people. o yea forgot to add scenarios.. Its nl 2/4 cash game every1 has even stacks of 350.

  1. The fewer people in the hand/game the value of the cards go up. I would limp in with any suited connectors to see the flop and call a raise with very high connectors. Never heard of poker after dark but the play varies in tourneys.. from real aggressive to very tight.
  2. 1) Okay do u play all suited connectors or just 67s and higher with 4 people? The answer to this question depends on your playing abilities. If you are a novice player, I would not recommend that you play short handed at all. Statistically, it's better to play drawing hands against more people, especially if you are playing limit. If you are playing no-limit, you can play more questionable hands because you can push players out with a big bet. If you are a higher level player in a cash game, I would play position and the player, and your cards are not as important. This is especially true in no-limit. In cash games, you are often looking to crack a player with a big hand (e.g. AA) knowing that he's got a big hand. Coming in with 2 4 off suit and flopping trip 2 will help you get his entire stack in one hand, especially if you have your opponent pegged as not being able to fold big pairs. 2) And in poker after dark people play so much tighter than in high stakes poker?? Is it because poker after dark is a tourney? Yes. However, "Poker After Dark" is a winner take all tournament, which is different from normal tournaments. If it wasn't winner take all, you would see even tighter play. "High Stakes Poker" is a show that shows the best of the best in cash game play. You don't have to play as tight in a cash game, especially for those pro players who have deep pockets. As they say, "Don't try this at home." If you try those moves that you see on "High Stakes", on a small cash game (e.g. less than $300 buy-in), it probably won't work because you are playing against players that won't lay down hands, and also don't mind losing $80 all-in. When they go all-in for $300,000 on that show, even the top of the top players have to lay down big hands.
  3. i will play any suited connector in almost any situation if i think the timing is correct...i prefer to take the daniel negreanu approach to playing these hands, which is to play them strong and to be willing to take flops with them in big pots...the reason you do this is because your implied odds are great if you manage to make a big hand, and your opponent flops a big but second-best hand, or started with a big pair on poker after dark, it is a tournament and all the players are established, very good professionals who have the respect of the other players at the table, therefore they play fewer hands because they don't want to get involved with these great players, especially early...on high stakes poker, there are a fair number of amateur players and professionals who have not gained the respect of the other players at the table, and so their opponents will seek to play pots against them hoping to outplay them and make a big score
  4. As for poker after dark they do play tight because there is only one person who gets all of the money so it makes no sense to play loose. If it was top 3 get paid out then you would see more action, but the fact that only one gets the cash there is no reason to be trying to get out right away. As for suited connectors i like to only play then in un raised pots from late position, with lots of callers. Playing these hands heads up or in a pot where no money is out there is a bad move. Now every now and then i will take a shot from up front with this hand, but for the most part they are trap hands. If it wasen't suited you woulden't play it, so being suited only gives you a 2% better hand. In un raised pots with lots of callers is the way to play these kind of hands. Now i would much rather have a hand like 6-7 suited, then a hand like A-8 any day, because you will be live against hands like a-10, k-q, and k-j. But they are trap hands for most rookie players.
