- Go to Partypoker.com and u shall find what ur lookin for.
- Well the most popular way to play poker is Texas hold `em. The second is 5 card draw. Texas holdem is what you will find on partypoker.com or pokerstars.com while 5 card draw will be what you see on little hand held games and video poker. The same basics apply to each game. The most important thing to learn in poker are the hands. Learn what cards beat what cards. Then you will need to learn the odds of getting these cards, this will vary by game so you will need to decide what game you are going to play.
- the idea is to win with the best hand, by betting against other players. Royal Flush is best possible hand, followed by Staight flush, 4 of a kind, full house, flush, straight, 3 of a kind, 2 pair, pair, then best card. Thats just the begining.
- Without question, the first game you need to learn is Texas Hold'em. That game is the one your friends are likely to play, and that is the most often played and seen poker variant by a long shot. In Hold'em as with 7 card stud, you try to build the best five card hand possible out of 7 available cards. And, as with all poker variants, hands rank, top to bottom: Royal Flush: 10 to Ace of the same suit. Straight Flush: 5 consecutive cards of the same suit. 4 of a kind: All four of the same number. Full House: Also known as a "boat". 3 of one number and 2 of another. Flush: 5 non-consecutive cards of the same suit. Straight: 5 unsuited consecutive cards. Three of a kind: Three of the same number. Also known as a "set". Two pair: Two each of the same number. For instance, two aces and two nines. One pair: Two cards of the same number. High card: Highest ranking card. The game begins with all players (up to 10 at a table!) being dealt two hidden cards, known as "pocket" or "hole" cards. A round of betting ensues. Depending upon the game, the betting may or may not have limits. The popular tournament version of Hold'em is no limit, meaning anyone can bet all of their chips at any time. The challenge, of course, is knowing when to do so! The dealer then deals three cards to the center of the table, known as the "flop". These are "community" cards, and are common to everyone's hand. A round of betting ensues, and then a fourth community card is dealt, known as the "turn". After a round of betting, a fifth and final community card, the "river", is dealt, followed by one final betting round. Other games popularized by the World Series of Poker include Seven Card Stud and Omaha (a personal favorite of mine!). These games might interest you. I might suggest that you look for opportunities to see replays of recent World Series Tournaments on ESPN Classic. You could learn something along the way! I wish you luck!
