(haha) But seriously, poker is really popular, as evidenced by the ever increasing viewing and playing population- so it really doesn't matter if it's a sport or not, it just matters if people will watch it. This is just the best I could come up with; in reality, yes, it's a ridiculous situation with no purely logical explanation.

- poker is still warm (not as hot as it once was) i think the initial wave has warn off and while they still show some tourney everday its 15min of fame is almost over. what would you rather watch wsop or that cup stacking crap that they have on during the middle of the day???!!!

- its bc the tv station think since its late at night no one is gonna be up so they decided to put something boring on the air 2 kill time
- They have a contract with MLB to show a certain number of games in certain time slots. If they wanted to show more games, they'd have to pay more, they'd have to get their announcers full time, etc. Why they're showing poker instead of some other sport, I can't say, but that's why they aren't showing live baseball games every night.

- Well...this is ESPN we are talking about. In case anyone has been sleeping the past few years and missed it.....ESPN has gone downhill steadily. I used to be an avid ESPN watcher...now I honestly cannot stomach watching 5 minutes of it.
- Watching poker on tv is about the equal of watching chess on tv. I'd rather watch cricket, AA baseball, or a marathon on tv. And I'm definitely scraping the bottom of the barrel there.
