Why do people watch poker shows? What is the fun in watching others play cards?
Public Comments
- Some watch to learn. Others, because they think it's interesting. Why do people watch Racing? Who wants to watch fourteen cars go around in a circle two hundred times?
- I can't figure it out either. Not exactly a spectator sport.
- For the same reason people watch darts and golf.
- Some people watch for strategies and some are genuinely entertained by it. Shocking, isn't it? But then again there are people, who call Nascar entertainment.
- I am with you in this one... That is so boring. It is very annoying when you are searching for something good in TV and all they can show is Black Jack, Poker and many other card boring games. I guess the Audience is becoming old and slow, because you don't see teenagers bumping the ratings of Celebrity Poker..
- For the same reason people watch any other sport or competition program. Different strokes for different folks.
- Actually CELEBRITY POKER SHOWDOWN on Bravo is a riot. The celebs have great personalities which we rarely get to see. And b/c they're usually playing someone other than themselves when we see them, I find it interesting & entertaining to see how they as real people react when they lose or win. In this case, it's not so much about the poker but the celebs being themselves. I'm w/ you on straight poker tournaments, tho. Who wants to watch a bunch of stiffs stare at each other? Peace~
- drives me nuts to watch other people play cards.
- My husband watches it all the time, it helps you learn how to understand the game, and learns you how to play and win, and how strategies go, and how you can beat your opponents
- Great TV, superb tension and it gives amateur players something to shoot for. Why watch any sport when it comes to that?
