1. No, none that can be publicly attended. Gambling is illegal in Taiwan and for many good reasons; it is a very addictive habit. People who gamble gamble among friends, private clubs and within families. Hope that this helps. If you want gambling go to Macau where it is legal or to the Thai/Cambodian border.
2. Hmm... on ocassion I have seen it on TV, as part of the Sports Network coverage. Generally I flip past it, however. It doesnt interest me. Usually thats the american poker players playing against an Asian doing the 'representin' Maybe he/she is Taiwanese, but I dunno.
