me and my friend were playing 7 card draw and i got a straight flush and he got a 5 of a kind (were playing with wilds), i know that a straight flush beats a4 of a kind and i dont think that you can use a 5 of a kind.. is there such thing as a 5 of a kind in poker?

  1. if you use wilds then yes, 5 of a kind beats a straight flush
  2. If you are playing wilds, then you can have five of a kind. In which case it would beat the straight flush. In future just play some real poker games, and this kind of confusion won't come up.
  3. 5 of a kind would be technically harder to get, since you need 4 of a kind plus a wild card. For that reason i think it should go ahead of the straight flush. But i don't think theres a written rule on it, since in regulation poker it doesn't exist. Just like people have varying versions of Rummy, make up a general rule for it and stick with it. Or take a poll. My vote is for 5 of a kind.
  4. Unfortunately, your straight flush was beat because you two played with wild cards. In regular play, with no wilds, his hand would have been 4 of a kind with whatever kicker and your straight flush would prevail. So, to answer your question...there is no 5 of a kind in poker. There is 5 of a kind when you play with wilds (which I consider not poker).
