How to Play Poker Videos

What edge can you expect if playing a perfect strategy low stakes poker?

Im thinking that if you play low stakes poker (Im not sure if it would work for no limit or just limit?), and you play a perfect strategy then you wont have to think as the players at lower limits are not good players gernally, and you could even get a bot to play for you. Anyone one know what kind of edge you can expect on average doing this?

  1. Can you please explain what you mean by perfect strategy. ABC, TAG, LAG? They all work differently depending on you opponent. There is no 'perfect' strategy, you have to be able to adapt.
  2. Matt's right. There really isn't a universal perfect strategy. Everything will change by player. But as you say, at the lower limits, players are bad enough where using a consistent tight/aggressive strategy will win even without player adjustments. In terms of bots (which are illegal by the way on poker sites!!), they are much better suited for limit holdem as there are less decisions for bots to make. In terms of how much money you could make before getting caught...I have no idea for sure, but I wouldn't be shocked if you could get $3/hr per table quite easily.
  3. I suspect that if you play a tight agressive game in the low stakes no limit tournies, you could make a nice profit, maybe the equivalent of 2 BBs per hour, net. I did this for a while using the Dynamic Point Count Super Strategy and did very well, but it got pretty boring grinding it out at the ring games. And I began to run into some questionable situations in the smaller SNG and ring games. I suspect it was collusion on the part of some players. Bots are not allowed on any site per the TOS, and if you are caught using one, then you may end up forfeiting your account, your deposit and any winnings. Some sites claim they have ways to check to see if you are using one. One site I know of uses a periodic refresh that is supposed to be able to casue a bot to disconnect. Good luck
  4. Bots are ineffective, get caught quickly, apparently take ages to set up correctly and de-stabalise the integrity of the best game on earth. You can expect more by learning how to play, read books, get experience. On 5c/10c tables, prob get bout 70c/hr, 50c/$1 players start getting good and will suss out your bots week spots quite fast, if they dont, id guess about $7/hr. Either way it's pretty crap money. Hope they bring in a law some day and screw you theiving monkeys good and propper, in the mean time, im quite happy outwitting basic software and taking your money. :) Good luck!
  5. There are too many variables to answer this. Poker is not like Blackjack for example. In Blackjack there is always a mathematically correct play to make based on the dealer's exposed card, your cards, and if you are tracking it, the 'count.' With poker there are unknown variables that you cannot know. Is your opponent bluffing, would be one major example. So your edge is going to vary by the game you are playing, and if you always play the same way, smart players will pick up on that. As far as a bot goes, I've yet to be convinced of any real life success with them. If someone wrote a killer poker bot, why would he or she not simply use it himself to make money? Why reduce his edge by giving it away or selling it? You also have to consider that even with a great bot, if you are caught using it, you will have your account suspended. So now you just lost your winnings. In any case, I'm not going to entrust my hard earned bankroll to a computer program.
  6. ITS a good theroy . thing is at lower stakes you get the lose players who will gamble to hit 2 3 4 outers so yes it my work thing is you gonna hit the bad beats
