How to Play Poker Videos

Why are Poker players RUDE?

Hey all i was just board and decided to watch a Sports show called Poker After Dark on channel 4 and all the Poker players do is stack their chips and when they want to give it to the dealer they throw the chips at the dealer, What is the point of stacking them for 10 Min and than throw it at a person whos just doing their job. This alone should make US gov rethink Pokers right as a sport. @ Penelope, Yeah but when they have placed the stack near the Dealer they can just leave it instead of tapping it so it spills. Its just plain rude for someone who is supposed to be a Pro.

  1. 'cause they are so stressed out!
  2. The U.S. Government considers poker to be a sport? I guess I missed that part of the Pan-American Games. As a side note, when you sit at the end of the table, you have to toss your chips with force to get them to the dealer. We dealers much prefer doing a little cleaning up to having to reach for chips.
  3. Wow, players are rude so it shouldn't be a sport? What does one thing possibly have to do with another? I'm not even going any further, you won't understand.
  4. Maybe you were watching the bad boy episode of Poker after dark. I have seen some poker players that fit your description, but I have seen some friendly, and courteous players as well. Actually you see it in all sports. You have the good, the bad, and the ugly.
  5. The way you bet your chips has nothing to do with being rude. It's their money, and as long as they aren't splashing the pot, it's no big deal how they get across the table. If chips aren't actually -hitting- the dealer, then there's nothing to even mention. Besides, those dealers are getting paid good money to do what they do. You have to take into consideration that sometimes, the way a player puts their chips into a pot can be a tell, and sometimes, players want to portray a weak hand by copying the characteristics of a bet that would be considered a weak hand. Maybe they throw their chips as far away from them on purpose, because usually, when a player bets far away from them, they're weak or bluffing. Have to take all things into consideration. Last, and maybe not least, it makes good television when they're flagrant when they bet. It makes them look cool.
  6. Its not just poker, when you get with the more experienced players of any card game (or sport for that matter) they are all really short tempered and jackasses, its part of the game and you jsut got to keep your cool, otherwise your no better than them.
