How many people can play at one poker table with one deck of cards?
We have 5 people and 4 more people want to play. Is that spreading the deck too thin? I forgot to mention that it's texas hold-em. Spreading the deck too thin = not having enough cards so that everyone can play.

- if ur playing texas hold 'em your fine
- 8 people can be at a table with 1 deck of cards
- what kind of poker are you playing? i would tell the other four to start their own table with their own deck
- i think its six at a time
- In texas holdem you can play with 10 players at a table. 9 is preferred. If you are playing omaha , 9 is the max.
- Ever think of counting the cards? You deal 5 cards in the middle (burn 3), then 2 cards per person... You can have plenty of people. What does "spreading the deck too thin" even mean?
- you can have up to 8 people before the deck is too thin. Draw poker has a limit of 5 people.
- Since each player needs two hole cards, the flop/turn/river requires five cards, and three cards are burned, 22 players can play Texas Hold'em. I wouldn't worry about the deck being spread too thin since with 22 players or less that isn't possible but games with much more than 10 players can tax your patience because each hand takes longer to play and you may get tired of losing hands since you are against so many other people who may have better hands than you. If you have a game with 9 players, you should be fine although beware that if some of these players are newbies, the hands will take a long time to play.
