Yes it is quite easy to learn how to play. I learnt from watching the tournaments on TV. i used to love watching them but had never played a game in my life. I eventually picked it up just by watching and in my fist game against "the boys" i beat them all. As long as you know what hand beats what and how to deal. I'm sure if you are having a social game other people will explain to you about blinds and such.
