- Without knowing what the community cards were, couldn't say. The important thing to remember is that, in Omaha, you must use 2 of your 4 hole cards - no more, no less.
- In Omaha you MUST use two of your four cards ALWAYS...and three of the COMMUNITY CARDS... you never told us what the community cards were so how can we help you?!? Anyhow, obviously there were at-least three spades out there giving your opponent the flush... Now for you to get the boat you would need the community cards to have a four and a pair or three of a kind... Omaha is very hard and tricky and your hands will always be changing until the very end...one thing I know in Omaha is if you don't have the absolute nuts chances are you will lose...I've had straights, turn into flushes and still lose because of all the outs people have...remember it is okay to fold ;)
- Omaha is almost exactly like Hold'em. The biggest difference however is that you MUST use two of your four hole cards, without exception. So if you are dealt four aces, you do not have four of a kind, you have a pair of aces, together with the three best cards on the board. Similarly if the board has a flush on it (all five community cards are for example spades) you do not have a flush unless you personally have two matching suit cards in your hand. So if there were five spade on the board, you do not have a spade flush unless you also have two spades in your hand. The addition of these extra hole cards does reduce the value of the hands you can make. In Hold'em you are using five community cards and two hole cards to make the best five card hand. But in Omaha you have access to nine cards in all, although the rule that you must use two hole cards and three board cards every time does affect the odds a little. With all that said, a hand like three of a kind is a lot more common in Omaha, and is far less likely to be the best hand than it would be in Hold'em.
- you didn't mention the "community cards" but in Omaha you must use 2 cards from your hand and 3 "community cards" to make your best 5 card hand apprantly there was 3 spades in the "community cards" because he has to use his highest 2 spades the Ace and King
- That's the answer you were looking for I'm sure. You can only play 2 cards from your hand .. But you must play 2 cards from your hand.
- 2 in your hand (of 4) 3 on the board (of 5) ALWAYS! what was on the board? if 3 of a kind... you win or a pair and a 4... if 3 spades, he had A.K. high flush.
