How to Play Poker Videos

What level of comps can I expect with my level of video poker play in a Las Vegas Strip hotel?

I have been playing at a Station Casinos property but am getting bored with what they have to offer. I play video poker 8 hours per day for three days straight, with about $13,000 coin in per hour and thus about $100,000 coin in per day and $300,000 per 3-day trip. I haven't played on the Strip in a long time so I'm not sure what I'm worth to the big casinos. I'm looking for a free stay in a very nice suite, free fine dining for my wife and me, and maybe even free airfare from the West Coast. Am I being realistic? Thanks in advance for your responses! BTW, I play 98.9% deuces wild. banananose_89117, I know that my play doesn't transfer. I meant; how much can I expect if I go to a Strip casino and play at my normal duration and level? Jack, Thanks for your response. I have yet to find dollar 5-play FPDW anywhere. Or even $5 single play FPDW. Please tell me where I can find these.

  1. Video Poker comps vary not just by casino but also by the type of game you play. Increasingly, video poker comps are lower for full pay or near full pay games. Even though 9/6 Jacks or Better (9 to 1 for full house and 6 to 1 for flush and bet returned if pair of Jacks or higher) is not 100%+, many casinos have degraded comps for these games. If you play one of the worst paytables such as 6/5 Jacks or Better such as at Harrah's then you should get full comps. However, you pay a steep price for those comps since the difference between 9/6 and 6/5 is about 4 1/2 percentage points. Your comp rate might be as high as .003% or maybe just .001% or somewhere between $300-$900 for your 3 days not including casino host discretion which has been mostly taken away from them over the years. However, given the downturn and your decent level of play, I would still ask casino hosts for full RFB anyway. If your wife plays and uses your card, you can get the concentrated benefit of play. Also, there are sometimes promotions for 2X, 5X, etc. points so I would check for those. If you are friendly to your casino host, they might try harder to bend their comp rules for you but as I said before, their discretion is being stripped away by the bean counters. I think you can get a fair amount of what you want but maybe not all. However, there are deals for hotel rooms and air fare so a return flight (booked through the casinos' travel agent with a return stay at an undetermined rate) is not out of the question if you ask.
  2. Your play at Station is worth ZERO on The Strip because Station Casinos are privately owned. The only one close is just to the west of the Sahara Hotel called Palace Station. You can look at your points on a machine but just go to the Players Club (hopefully you have a card) and they will tell you what you can get comped.
  3. I think the new Station Casino Resorts Green Valley, Red Rock, and Alliante (opening by Christmas) are comparable to most places on the strip. If you are getting good comps I would stay with them. --------------------------- Station Casinos keeps threatening to open a multibilion dollar casino near the strip. They own a lot of land around their run down Wild Wild West casino on the West side of I15. But right now the Wild Wild West is a truckstop with gambling, and Palace Station is pretty ordinary. --------------------------- Casinos know that a skilled video poker playing your game can keep the house edge pretty low. ---------------------------- Of course, the May 2008 gambling figures were horrible. Every market was crushed. Right now they are probably pretty excited about people like you.
  4. >>I play 98.9% deuces wild<< WHY? The difference between FPDW(100.76%) and DW(98.9%) = $1860 per day or $5580 per 3 day trip, on your 100K per day. There are still plenty of places to play "Full Pay" deuces wild http://www.groups.yahoo.com/group/vpfree This site has the location of all full pay VP in Las Vegas and a rundown of each slot club. The Palms is very nice, they have all four of the major VP games at full pay, and for 100K per day they will take good care of you. The Palms also has a wide selection of DW including NSUD(99.7%) MP(3/5) MD($1, $2, $5) machines ~Jack~
