What software can you use with PokerStars in order to gather live stats and build player/hand DBs?
I want to build a large database of hand histories that I can mine in various ways. What options are available to me? What are the pros and cons?

- well there are a few different options out there. The main one is pokertracker and there are a few different offshoots which run pretty similar programs. The most popular option is to buy the pokertracker, which for the lifetime use runs about 50-60 typically. From there you can upload your desired number of hand histories until you want to get rid of those. The only real con is that you are going to have to pay the money if you want the full versions, but it is a very helpful tool. There are a lot of pros but as you seem to have a general idea that you are going to be mining through to improve as a poker player you get the general idea. you can run samples for a small number of hands but it really doesnt do the software justice. Id recommend pokertracker.
