Who must show their hand in poker?
In no-limit hold em, what is the rule for the showdown? From what I can gather, if there are two people, one person doesn't need to, but the other one must, right? Which one? Also, please explain when the river is checked. Mone, if both players check on the river, who must show? Let's say both players check the river, and both players don't want to show their cards (which may reveal information about their betting patterns.) Is one of them forced to?

- On the river, with 2 players in the game, if the person opening the betting "checks," then the bet goes to the next person. If that next person also "checks" then the round is over and the person who opened the betting round, by saying "check" must now show his/her cards.
- if player A raises the pot and player B calls it. Player A must show his hand because he was called, but player B don't have to he can much his hand meaning not show it. check out this site for great poker tips: http://freetexasholdemonline.blogspot.com
- The last person who acted. Joe bets $50 on the river, Mike calls. Joe has to show first.
- If checked at river, usually both players show, however, it is not required. For example, if winning player shows their hand, it is not required that the losing hand be shown. The player with the losing hand may indicate their loss by mucking their cards. Edit: If neither player wants to show their hand, action starts by position, with player on button acting last. Players may either show or muck their hand. It makes no difference if river was bet or checked.
- they can never REQUIRE you to show...even if u have winning cards, u can still muck ur hand and they cant do anything about it. but...if u wanna win a pot..u have to show (unless everyone else has folded)
