1. The best way is to develop your own strategys by playing trust me, some in those books you will come up with yourself, but my reading them and trying to make them work, most fail, it is really best to learn them yourself :)

3. Dan Harrington’s books are absolutely the best. He wrote three books but they are like one continuous instruction. “Harrington on Hold’em” is the title. Start with volume one “Strategic Play”. I’ve got about 20 books in my poker library and there is no doubt about which ones improved my play the most. Some writers suggest a certain play saying, “I would do such and such in this situation”, but you don’t understand why they would. Dan gives information on why, how much, and the purpose of plays. Also, what you should be considering and when. His explanations help you understand WHY, not just what to do. Dan’s books are referred to by many poker writers in magazines and by commentators during televised poker tournaments. His writings are considered the bible of poker playing. .
