Poker Help? Need Tips!? I have played omaha and hold-em online for a couple of years, and have some pretty good rankings. I would like to go to my local casino and get in the action there. How do you do it? What are the rules? What happens if you need to use the bathroom? Is there a specific dress code? How much $ does it take to enter and play? I'm not worried about my poker face or how to play, just the other stuff involved with it. Help???
How many different types of poker are there? I know texas hold'em, omaha, 5 and 7 card stud, and 5 card draw. I also have a general idea on how to play high/low but I'm not sure about all the exact details. What are the other types?
which poker game is more odds based? I have only played holdem but out of holdem, stud and omaha which has more calculations of probability. Not really sure how to phrase it but I want to know which of those games would be worst to play a computer against. Essentially which relies less on bluffing and more on responding to the cards you are given. Ask for clarification if I havn't managed to explain this correctly Thanks in advance!
Party Poker ? Lately, I found a lot of people on omaha tables (free play) who are sitting out and getting an awful lot of chips... Noone there told me how to do so. Could you please help me ?
Anybody heard of a site called Love That Poker!? Apparently ALL of the games are free. The ring/cash games and sit-n-go's are the equivalent of play money tables, but you can use the points to enter daily $50 freerolls, qualify for weekly $500 freerolls or monthly $5000 freerolls. They don't ask for a credit card, registration is simply giving a sign-in name and a password, and there's no download. Only drawbacks I see so far is I don't know exactly how the payout system works, as I've only been on there a day and haven't made any money yet, and the traffic is very low so the game selection is limited (there are usually only 2 7 card stud tables and 2 Omaha tables going, maybe 5-10 Texas Hold Em tables, only half of which are no limit, and sit-n-go's take about 15 minutes to round up 6 players). Other than that, there's no catch that I'm aware of. If you've heard anything about this site, let me know. Also, if the site sounds interesting to you, I'd appreciate it if you could access it through this link (It's a referral program): http://www.lovethatpoker.com/?publs=35999 Like I said, I've played on there, and it costs absolutely zero, and they haven't asked me for any credit card or bank info. If nothing else, it's good practice (although most people on there are donks). Thanks a bunch. I neglected to mention, if you use the link, they say they will deposit $10 (real money) into your account. Don't know if that's true or not, but if you do use the link, let me know if they are true to their claim. I don't know how to cash out your winnings, like I said, i've only been there a day so far (but I almost won some money), so I haven't cashed out yet. If you check "My Referrals" it tells you how to refer friends. Thanks for clicking the link!
Poker Stars computer shills, how many per table? with a lawyer present and a digital camera,I took picture of my delt hand in omaha H/L,If my hand was low red,the board flopped high black,or,If high red,low black would flop, when dealt Ace,2 3 4,board would flop 2 lows and counterfeit entire hand so while playing I was "chatting"my hand to everyone else at the table, yet no one answered back the entire time, now either everyone at the table did not understand English or Computer program shills can not answer back! BUT when I play in free money tables at the same site, none of the above mentioned problems seem to exist. So naturally its in the best interest of the site to sucker as many players as possible through the flop, to the turn, and river, to maximaze their rake!
Poker tournament problem? I've been using the Hellmuth strategy of loosening up and getting super aggressive near the bubble, where everyone else tends to tighten up, and it has helped tremendously. I have gone from last place to 10th before and I cannot believe how easily people will give up a hand just because they want to squeeze into the money. My trouble is, afterwards I start sliding down again. I keep loose so as to enter the pots (which, with the antes, have become huge) and I'm not aggressive because after everyone is ITM they tend to become stronger and won't back down as easily. How should I be playing after the bubble is gone? Note: I'm actually referring to mainly non-Texas Hold Em games like 7 Card Stud 8+ and Omaha 8+, but this happens (though not as drastically) in Texas HE games as well.
What poker variations do you play? Right now, Texas Hold Em is arguably the most popular form of poker, and I believe Omaha, 7 card stud and 5 card draw are still played quite often. Do you play any other variation of poker? If so, what do you play and what do you like about it? I have played a variation called "Anaconda", which is a form of 7 card draw. Each player is dealt 7 cards. One round of betting takes place, and then each player must PASS 3 of his cards to his right. This means if you were dealt a straight, a flush or a full house, your hand just got screwed. After the pass, another round of betting, and then you pass 2 cards. Then another round, pass 1 card, another round and the show down. It's interesting to get, say, 3, 3, 7, 7, A, K, 10 because in that situation, you have two pair, but to keep it you'd be forced to pass 3 high cards to your opponent.
Question about "Razz" on Full Tilt? Can someone please explain why I lost the following hand in Razz style of poker? I had 9, 5, 3, 2, A and I lost to 8, 6, 5, 3, 2 From what I understand, the 5 lowest cards combined wins. Mine combined equals 20 and his combined is 24. How did I lose? (I only learned how to play yesterday, I'm more familiar with Hold Em/Omaha/7-Stud)
This is a poker rules question? Last night I was playing poker with some friends and we decided to play a new version of Omaha Hold Em' . We played Omaha with low in your hole wild. So to get to the point I had a Royal Flush with my wild card and my friend had 5 of a kind with 2 wild cards? Who wins, does it just matter on what the house rules are? I said there is no 5 of a kind and they said there is when you play with wild cards. If I am wrong, that's ok I just wanted other opinions on rules??
Poker for omaha and no limit? is it better to learn different type of poker games to improve your play? I've been playing no limit holdem for awhile and try to improve as much as possible, recently i switch to omaha and try to learn others as well, such as horse, but it only get worst, should I just keep sticking to what I know (no limit holdem), Is there anyone who actually only play holdem and nothing else and succeed at it. Is it a bad idea to only play at one type of poker? Other than no limit I can't play anything else and I was wondering if anyone have the same problems?
Anyone want to discuss poker indepth and detail ? I'm looking to discuss poker with other real poker players and kick around ideas and theories on the game, mainly play hold em, but will play a little omaha also. If you're interested feel free to email me with any groups or discussion forums you know of. Thanks.

Are there any really challenging poker games for computer or xbox? I dont play real money online anymore because im chicken about the new laws and free roll games get irritating, so I have to go to drive 40 minutes one way to the nearest casino to find a decent game if im in the mood, and I dont l usually dont have the time to blow a whole afternoon or night. are there any hold'em or omaha computer/xbox games that have really good AI that is comparable to pretty decent poker players?
Various Card Games for Card Night!? My friends and I have "poker" night once a month and we mix it up with dealers choice. We play Txs Hld Em, Omaha, 5 Crd Draw, 7 Crd Stud, Baseball, K & Low Guts, Coyote (and Coyote Wild ), 7 / 27. They are all fun, but lookn for more ideas. These are small coin type games w/ 25c Limit / round type games. Will consider all Ideas, if you know links for explanation post them. thnx RP
Question about different variations of poker? I have a home game going about once a week and we always play dealer's choice. Most of us choose Texas Hold Em (I occasionally mix it up with 7 card stud and 5 card draw) but one player loves changing the game up every time. He's introduced us to a lot of variations, some of which I've liked: Pineapple, Omaha Hi, Lowball and Anaconda. Does anyone know: a) any online poker sites that offer these games? (I realize Omaha is quite popular, so exclude that one from this question) b) Any sites that offer strategy on these variations? As a side question, can anyone explain what a "triple draw" game is? For instance, on Poker Stars, they offer 2-7 Triple Draw.
What should I have done? I was playing poker with my friends today (super omaha..hold em' with 4 cards instead of 2). I had 2 queens and some other crap in my hand, and there was a queen on the table. My friend bet $1, and the other two guys folded. I pondered for a minute, and then I showed him my two queens, just to scare him. He layed down his cards and said, "my full house was only 9 high. What was your pair?" I then said "I fold". I then layed down the rest of my cards, and he said you owe me a dollar. However, I never actually said "I call the dolalr" or anything like that at all, I had just tricked him which is what I had planned. However, niether him or my friends believed me, and claimed they remembered me saying that I called. However, I didn't, and they thought I was lieing, so I just paid. What could I have done? Their not my best friends, so they don't know me too well. Yeah, it was only a dollar, but we're 14 so thats a buck!
i need a statistics wizard...? i was playing poker online and i was dealt 2 aces and two kings from one deck playing omaha and in another deck i was dealt an ace and a king playing hold em. what are the odds of having all six cards all being at least a king?????
poker stars FPP? i know about FPP on poker stars; i have over 1200, but have gotten them thu tourneys to date. as for the cash games, 40 cents equals 1 fpp and 3.00 equals 2 fpp; but what would be the amount of the pot for 40 cents and 3.00? i play limit, stud and omaha but at the cheap games for no more than 10 cents/20 cents, so doubtful at that rate i will never earn any fpp. at what level, would i most likely accumulate that amount of rake?
Where would you recommend for live games? I'm looking to head to the US next summer and maybe play in some live tournaments. Thus far I've only played online and in home games. I'd like to go to a place where I can stay pretty cheap, and find a good variety of low buy-in (less than $100) games, preferably with a decent number of entrants. I'm into all types of poker (Texas, Omaha, 5/7 card stud, 2-7 Triple Draw, etc.), so places that offer different kinds of poker would be great, but even if they just offer Texas, no problem. Specific places would be great, so not just "go to Vegas", but where in Vegas? Which casinos? What hotels are good? Are there any good places outside of Vegas?
Do you like poker? How often do you usually play? What games do you usually play? I like 7 card stud and Omaha Hi-Lo. Texas Hold-em is ok, but not my favorite. Opinions?
Serious Poker Players!!! Going to Reno please read below...? Going to Reno to meet up with a buddy that Manages the Dolce restaurant. We both play a lot of poker, mostly online. I am a solid player and I want to play a decent game against decent players. I also would like to take advantage of some tourists. Anyone know where I can find a good tourney? Good cash game? Unfortunately my bank roll had to go with the gas prices and I am only bringing $300 with me. I prefer NLHE but I can be good at Omaha too. Thanks in advance for your answers and I will be sure to tag a best answer.
What are the rules for a H.O.R.S.E. poker tournament? I am interested in playing a H.O.R.S.E. tournament with some friends. I know that stands for Hold 'Em, Omaha, Razz, Seven Stud and Seven Stud Eight-or-Better, but... 1) What order are the games played in? 2) What are the appropriate ante/blinds to keep the games even?
