Who really enjoys a high-stakes Poker Game, and what was the pot you were playing for? I love poker and made some real good oney doing it in the Marines, I also love to shoot pool and have made some good money doing this as well, but all in all, I love a good game of high-stakes poker, this gets my blood flowing quickly. Whats the largest amount of money in the pot that you were playing for and did you win? makes you feel on top of the world when you win, doesn't it? It does for me, what a rush!
Poker players on high stakes making bad decisions? I was watching high stakes poker and the famous Phil Helmuth wanted insurance on a pot he was all in with....which means he wanted to pay close to the proper pot odds of him being beat he had 44 the other guy had 32 flop 4510....no flush draws involved So helmuth asked around the table what are the odds of him losing...and none of them knew...and Jamie Gold whos a mathmatician said between 50% and 33% helmuth ended up accepting the 33% and threw in an extra 5% to the guy insuring him now here i am...not a mathamatician but im thinking they all totally out of their minds straight draw odds are like 31.5% but the fact that the Phil had a set means u have to subtract the odds of the board pairing by the river which is 5%...so the real odds of him losing are 26%, which means helmuth should have only paid the 26% plus an extra 5% to cover the guy insuring the pot...so he over paid by 8% which is at least like 13k for a pot around 180k
high stakes poker? I have heard that the gsn show high stakes poker is great t.v, but i do not have gsn on my cable system, my question, is their any dvd that has come out for the public to buy, and if there is what stores sell it. 10pts to the most helpful person.
High Stakes Poker? On the tv show "High Stakes Poker" what are the side bets called "props" the players keep referring to. Gabe Kaplan never shuts up long enough so you can hear what the players are saying.
Cheats for High Stakes Poker??? Does anyone know if there by any chance are any cheats or cheat codes for High Stakes Poker on the Vegas Strip for the PS3?
Juanda vs Laak high stakes poker pot odds? Okay Juanda has Qh, Jh. Laak has Qc, 8c. Flop comes out Qs, 8h, 5h. Preflop the pot was 12,000. Laak raises another 20k making the pot 32,000. Juanda has 12 outs (flush draw and 3 jacks) which is around 25% to hit by the turn. However his pot odds are 20:32 or 38%. The only reason Laak bet so much was because he knew Juanda was on a draw or had a high queen. If a heart doesnt come out on the turn Laak is going to bet even more so i dont think Juanda can use the 48% method (both turn and river). However Juanda ends up calling and i dont know why.
Playing poker at high stakes - Cash or Sit n go? Im currently growing my bankroll by playing normal sit n gos and am going to be moving to higher stakes shortly (touch wood) but all the players on the $200 tables are all on turbo's and noone even seems to be playing above $500, yet the $5/$10 cash tables are always packed out with players bying in for $1000 a pop. I can play cash well but i specialise in sit n gos. Are sit n go's a bit of a dead duck in the high stakes world? and why are turbos so popular? surely its just an all in fest with little skill.
Is high Stakes No limit holdem more difficult than lower stakes? Which is harder? High stakes or low stakes holdem (NO LIMIT?) I have seen tight, aggressive players at the 1/2 level. Some play perfect poker. However when I watch High stakes poker, it seems as though they play MUCH looser and bluff more often. I see players calling early raises with hands like QJ off suit. That does not seem like a good play. Is high stakes poker MORE difficult than the lower stakes (NO LIMIT)
Brad Booth is a SCRUB! Did anyone see the "play" he made on Phil Ivey (GSN - High Stakes Poker)? No Limit Cash Games are about making money not about acquiring chips (see tournament strategy) Recap: Yukon holding 2s-4s pushes "ALL-IN" vs. Phi Ivey's Pocket Kings on a 3d-7s-6d FLOP. Obviously Brad was trying to make a "play". Betting 300k to win a 50k pot is just bad poker. He bought in for over a 1 million and was just pushing his stack around. Of course Ivey folded (the good play) Though I respect Brad's game, this was probably the most bone-headed play EVER. People calling this one of the "Best Bluffs" are simply bad poker players. http://www.yukonbrad.com/ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1x-GGdHohnI // added details I'm sure you guys have play in lower NO LIMIT games, where some guy sits with an obscene about and just tries to railroad the entire game. Its not poker, its just bored rich guy. //
High stakes cash games? I hear frequently on GSN's High Stakes Poker where they say that this player plays in the big cash games at one casino and that player plays in the big cash games at that casino. Just exactly how much money do they play for in the everyday, big cash games at the major casinos? Say it was a seven card, no-limit, stud game. How much to open and how much per card would be a standard big cash game?
Something that i dont understand from high stakes poker? Okay in the hand where david benyamine is up against some rich dude i dont understand why he didnt just call the flop. He had a flush draw and it was obvios his oppenent had at least two pair+, maybe a combo draw and had little fold equity. It looked like he was getting 2-1. Was it because he (benyamine) would 4-bet all strong hands on that flop and only call with a flush draw therefore giving himself no implied odds because his hand was transparent? Another thing i didnt understand was why the announcer said that if the rich dude had reraised (3-bet) to 100k it would have been an easy call, but when it was raised to 125k, it was a harder decision. The link is here. Its not the first hand. (i think its the second or third hand in.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fQY3runTGao&feature=related The hand that im talking about starts at about 4:50. @Pokercoach-"David can't throw his hand away, but in the same time he can't just call. " Could you explain why david cant just call? @Sabes- does benyamine really believe he has fold equity in that spot? The rich dude seems to have been making some loose calls and im sure the table has noticed. Plus, he always has something better than a pair in that spot. Your oppenent who cant laydown hands plus the fact that he probaly has a strong hand is not a spot where you want to bluff right? @Sabes- well, david knows that guy knows that david is supposed to have a big hand here follow that? I sorta follow that, but not sure w/e Guy really thinks about this kinda stuff. @Pokercoach "And even for us knowing that Guy has 2 pairs...I mean, it's the nut flush, with a lot of money in the pot and in front of the players." Ummm yea its the nut flush and the nut flush probaly has 30% equity against combo draws, sets, and 2 pair. He is getting an okay price. When he pushes allin i higly doubt he has the fold equity to make this a profitable move. Im still not comprehending why you dont just want to call. Yes he gets to see two cards, but he is putting his whole stack in which is like more 200bb. When all that money goes in you are never ahead. Add that with little fold equity and how is this a good move??? Or do you think benyamine has lots of fold equity when he pushes?
Best place to download poker videos? Does anybody know where I can download good poker videos from the internet? I already know pokertube, but downloading videos there is not really possible. Where else can I find good poker videos like High Stakes Poker, Poker after dark, etc...
Marge foolishly gets into a high stake poker game with Mr. Burns. She loses (badly).? Beside herself with grief and shame, she nevertheless feels obligated to pay her gambling debt. She writes on the back of a napkin: “I Marge grant to Mr. Burns the house known as 512 Springfield Way”. She signs the napkin. When she returns home, her husband is shock to learn of her actions. Does Mr. Burns now own 512 Springfield Way? Explain. What should the clerk at the Springfield County Record’s Office do when Mr. Burns takes the napkin in for recording? Why?
Questions about technical poker rules? 1. When a player exposes his cards prematurely (before everyone has folded and/or before the showdown), what is the technical ruling in a cash game? 2. In a cash game, if players are all in, are they required to show their hand? I was told that in Vegas, the dealers require you to turn over your cards, but online and on high stakes poker, the players are allowed to keep their cards face down if they wish. What is the official ruling here?

How likely is it to flop the nuts and have your opponent suck out? I was watching high stakes poker the other night, and Daniel Negreanu got me thinking. How likely is it to flop the stone nuts and still lose the hand? In mathematical terms? Is there any way to calculate the probability of flopping the nuts and then having the nuts change, and your opponent holds the necessary cards? I know it's not likely, but I once watched a guy flop quad kings, and lose when the guy he was playing against had AA and caught runner-runner aces. What are the odds of that happening in a general sense? Are there too many variables to calculate?
