how can I play poker better? I play poker on a pretty regular basis (5 card draw with jokers to be exact) yet i have a tendency to lose a lot more than I would like. Does anyone have any tips or tricks that could help me do a little better?

How do you play poker good? I want to be on the t.v. playing good poker. How do I do this? Also, how do you know how to play against people who are bad? I think your lying about them 1,000,000 hands of poker.
Can a book *really* teach someone how to be better at poker? I just learned how to play Texas Hold 'Em about 6 months ago, and really enjoy playing. I'm not bad, but I also think that one's success hinges more on blind luck than pure skill. That said, I'd like to get better. My question is two parts : 1.) Can a book REALLY teach someone how to get better at playing poker, and 2.) If so, can someone recommend a book that they believe will help me with that?

Poker question...? Okay, here's the deal. I have been playing poker for about 2 years now. No limit Texas Hold em. I don't want to to toot my own horn but I always make it to at least the final 3, and I can do a lot of poker chip tricks and all that fun stuff. My problem is heads up. When it's just me and the final person I suck it up! How can I play better heads up poker? Busted..... 2nd Case scenario, tourney time, 1500 stack, 15/30 blinds, this guy reraises a KK and goes all in against him, wtf does he have? 72 offsuit, he busts the KK with a two pair......,I had JJ preflop i folded it, so i mean for good online poker players, how do u play against such a player? what kind of tactics, and preflop play do u use against them?
How do you play poker with idiots? I just got done playing in a cash game, bought in for around $100 total. I did not feel comfortable playing anyone at the table. I think of myself as a solid player who doesnt play bs cards. I watched a table and a player called 1-8th of his chips with 2-4 suited then called an allin bet to make it like 60 more. Flop had a 4 and 1higher 1 lower with heart draw, they guy only had a pair of 4s and called an allin vs aq hearts. 4th street was a q and it was over. This is BAD POKER. i know that you dont just sit and play the best hands but at a table of 10 in ohio at any charity game its redic. I lost all my money with the best hand preflop 2 times, a k-5 unsuited raised my aq suited and i lost to 555 wtf is that, i dont even bother reraising pre cuz these donkeys call like its nothing. i then lost it all with 99 and a guy had ak, called my 26$ bet into a 34 pot like it was nothing. How can a good poker player win vs DONKEYS, even Phil Ivey would have had trouble winning. peace

When playing jacks or better video poker are the odds better if....? If on my first hand I get two different face cards and three smaller cards. Should I hold one face card, or should I hold both.
